We’re open!

Note: Lido re-opening delayed to 24 March due to unforeseen circumstances; all other facilities open from 1pm 17 March

Big improvements to our centre

Our building work is complete and we are so excited to see the improvements! Our centre promises to be an even greater asset to the town in the beautiful area of Chesham Moor.

Investment for health and community

This has all been possible with investment from Chesham Town Council, to ensure a healthy, active, safe and friendly community space for residents and visitors alike, which will serve for many years to come.

Re-opening date

We’ll be re-opening from 1.00pm on Monday 17 March with a new look and much-needed modernised facilities. (Lido/outdoor pool open from 24 March).

So what’s changing?!

New windows, and the interior plan has been altered to accommodate the following:

Reception area and cafe

  • Large open reception and cafe area – open to all.
  • Cafe will seat over 30, coffees and other drinks and pastries initially – more to come!

Outdoor pool / lido

  • Access to poolside and the gym is more secure – only for those who have purchased a session/attending family members
  • New pool surrounds and poolside showers, and additional changing on poolside
  • New changing rooms – family changing area plus separate male and female changing areas
  • The rustic yet popular wire baskets are still an option! Also lockers (token or coin).

Gym

  • The gym area will be double the floorspace, with an increase of over 60% in equipment
  • It features a functional rig – which can accommodate 4-5 exercisers at a time – great for group training sessions
  • More natural light with the gym area expanded and the ceiling level raised; with lots more lighting and aircon.

Accessibility improvements

  • Easier to use push-button doors to access the pool
  • A rampway from changing rooms to poolside
  • Note – as previously there is a hoist for the pool – please ask on arrival

Car park and access

  • The free car park close by our centre has been resurfaced, with an environmentally friendly grid to hold the surface in place
  • The surrounding area will be landscaped to restore it to its natural state
  • A new and more accessible pathway is being installed from the car park to our centre.

Membership

What’s new in our direct debit membership?

  • Discounted fees for Chesham Town Council tax payers
  • Wider choice of membership – choose either single activity membership (choosing either gym OR  swim = cheaper price). OR choose combined gym and swim membership
  • For example choosing EITHER swim membership OR gym membership = £25 per month for adult residents. This means a reduction in fee for those who regularly use either the pool or the gym.
  • To take full advantage of the upgraded facilities choose COMBINED GYM & SWIM membership – £40 per month for residents
  • For non-residents choosing either swim or gym membership @£27.50 per month. Combined swim & gym for non-residents = £44.00 per month.

We retain our long-standing user-friendly approach to membership

  • Monthly debits can be cancelled any time
  • You are not tied in to a fixed-term contract
  • Unlike many other sports facilities we do not charge a joining fee
  • Special rates for juniors and seniors.

What’s new in pay-as-you-go membership?

  • Prices remain the same for PAYG gym or swim sessions for residents. Slight increase for non-residents
  • Discounted fees for residents within the area of Chesham Town Council
  • Tennis is now pay-as-you-go only for court hire, kept at £6.

There is no tie, just pay for what you need.

I ‘froze’ my membership – what will happen?

All direct debit members will have a choice of options as listed on our membership page. Residents will be able to claim their discount once proof of residency is confirmed. Further details on when and how this will be launched will be available soon.

Codmore Pavilion at Botley Road

This has been a great success for members who’ve continued their membership payments to use our temporary gym at Codmore Pavilion. Thank you to everyone who has come along for their workout! We’ll need to close it at 9pm on 11th March in order to transfer the equipment back to join existing and new equipment at our Chesham Moor site.

Timetable for sessions

Our pool and gym timetables will remain largely unaltered, and the majority of classes will be continuing.

More updates soon on how to choose your ongoing membership… or how to join up as a new member.
