How do I get discounted resident's membership?
Please sign up with the type of membership you would like – this will mean paying the standard amount initially.
- For monthly resident’s membership – please pay online then bring council tax letter to have direct debit altered.
- For annual resident’s membership– please bring council tax letter to pay at
Can I park?
(Please note the Moor hard standing will be occupied by a funfair from Sunday 30th March to Monday 7th April. Please be aware that parking will be restricted please park considerately for our neighbours.)
Free car park (height barrier) on the right as you approach our sports centre from Chesham town centre direction. The nearest alternative car park is at Water Meadow Car Park, Brook Ct, Chesham HP5 1LF, approximately 13 minutes’ walk away.
We have bike racks just outside the centre.
What is the latest news regarding the refurbishment?
Do you have lockers?
We have lockers available as well as the baskets to take on to poolside. Lockers take £1 coins or please by a token from reception.
What app do I download to make bookings?
Once you have joined as a member. You can make your bookings via YourApp Plus.
Do you have a cafe?
We are pleased to say we have a brand new cafe since our re-opening after refurbishment. This currently has a choice of drinks and baked goods(subject to availability).
It is open to members and the public.

Can I turn up without a booking?
Please don’t turn up to swim in hot weather without a booking. We get very busy. We strongly recommend advance booking for all activities at all times to avoid disappointment, and save reception time.
Since 2020 we have run advance booking which has worked really well for our members at this community facility. This policy has been made clear on our website, email newsletters, social media, and onsite signage.
You can join as a pay as you go member and buy credits to pay for exercise sessions. There is no joining fee. If you have difficulty with joining online please call us on 01494 776975.

How do I book for myself and a child / children?
You can then go to ‘add member’ when you go to book your session. You’ll need to enter their details and select the type of membership, but once it is done, their information will be stored and you can add them easily the next time. You can add them as a ‘pay-as’you’go’ member, but pay using the credits in your own account. Please see How to book a family swim
Is there access for the disabled?
We have :
- disabled parking at front of the building
- ramp to the building
- disabled changing room
- staggered steps – these are in the lower end by the ladies changing area, and the outdoor showers
- pool hoist – this can be used for any sessions; if possible please call us beforehand on 01494 776975 to save you time so we can get it ready to use
What is the child to adult ratio in the pool?
Under 5s and non-swimmers must be accompanied by a sensible adult over 16 years old in the water at all times 1:1.
For children age 5-8 years the ratio is 1 adult to 2 children.
Please do not leave your child unattended at any time.
Is the pool heated? What is the temperature?
Our outdoor/open air pool here at Chesham Moor Gym and Swim is heated to approximately 27° C** all year round.
**Please note that in very cold weather or windy weather the pool can often be cooler in these conditions.
What are your opening hours?
We’re open all year. (closed only on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day each year as standard)
- Monday – Thursday 6am – 9pm
- Friday 6am – 8pm
- Saturday and Sunday 8am – 6pm
Bank holidays Good Friday, Easter Monday, May bank holiday and August bank holiday 8am – 6pm.

Several lifeguard courses are usually run each year in our lido.

Are you running inflatables sessions?
Our inflatable sessions run in the summer months. These sessions are for ages 8 to 14, who must be able to swim. Each session is one hour long – advance booking is essential.
Inflatable swim sessions are the same pricing as other swim sessions and are covered by junior membership, or a swim season ticket.

Not suitable for non-swimmers.
Is there chlorine in the pool, or other chemicals?
In 2012 our outdoor pool was the first in the UK with a NASA designed ionisation unit, meaning low chlorine levels in the pool, and less skin irritation and for those who have eczema for example. Users generally find the water to be very good and not cause them skin issues.
Can I hire the pool?
Yes. There are pool hire slots on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings. These can include hire of the pool, pool view room, and the inflatable if required.
These sessions get booked up very quickly – so please book early before making any plans.

I previously cancelled my direct debit – how do I start membership again?
You can either create a new account by signing up or contact reception on 01494 776975 to restart your direct debit.

How do I add credits?
Once on your booking page you will need to click the ‘my credits’ button then add new credits.
The button to add credits is under the heading ‘Welcome [your username]

How do I cancel my membership?
You can contact Ashbourne directly to cancel your membership or contact the centre on 01494 776975.
All direct debits have a 30 day cancellation policy which is agreed on sign up to the direct debit.
What age is senior rate?
Age 65 and over for senior pay-as-you-go membership or senior swim ticket.
For direct debit membership the price is the same as adult membership.
I'd like to take part in an activity, how do I do this?
Some of our classes are run by external providers – these are bookable direct via the instructor.
For swimming, gym, tennis and Aqua Fitness, you’ll need to be a member. (Aqua Fitness and Spinning are via pay-as-you-go membership only).
To sign up and become a ‘member’ does not mean you are tied. As an occasional visitor, or in need of flexibility, please sign up for ‘pay as you go membership.’ You can just buy credits for what you need.
Or you can be a direct debit member which is more economical for frequent visits. This can be monthly, or annual (annual is most economical). You can cancel anytime.

After you have signed up you will receive a log-in so you can book.
How many sessions can I book in one day?
We have limited each member to a maximum of 12 sessions a week.
We reserve the right to amend this, for example if there are altered Government health guidelines, or we have building maintenance, or in very hot weather when our pool gets very busy.
Please cancel your session as soon as possible if you are unable to attend, so it can be available for other members. This can be done up to two hours’ in advance via the booking system. Othweise please call us on 01494 776975. Or email us
I can't log in

I've just signed up, how do I set a password?
Your membership number will be emailed to you with your unique membership number which acts as your password.
How do I reset my password?
This can’t be done via the booking system so please contact reception, or look up your joining email which will have your membership details on.
How far in advance can I book my gym session, class or activity?
Session are available to book 7 days in advance.
Why can’t I book for me and my partner together?
Each member has to have their own membership as you are unable to book more than one session at a time per member.
This is the same for everyone who would like to come to the centre.
What happens if I can no longer make my booked session?
Please cancel as soon as you can to allow other members to book. You can cancel any session up two hours before your session starts via the booking system.

I’m not a member can I still book a session?
Yes, you would need to make a pay as you go ‘membership’ account, then you are able to add credits (1 credit = £1) and book sessions. It is up to you how many credits you wish to buy in advance, and you can top them up at any time.
Are there changing rooms and hot showers?
Yes. We have designated ‘female’ and ‘male’ changing rooms, disabled changing and family changing area.. Changing facilities have been upgraded for spring 2025. We have lockers available as well as the baskets to take on to poolside. Lockers take £1 coins or please by a token from reception.
How long is the pool?
It’s a 25-metre pool.
Can I join if I don't have an email address?
Our online system requires an email address, if you are able to use a family member’s you can, if not you’ll need to get an email address.
